Based in the foothills of the Kaimanawa and Kaweka ranges on Poronui Station. Helisika lease over 80,000ha of untouched wilderness only accessible by helicopter. For over 30 years we have flown hunting parties into the region chasing the elusive sika deer with great success. The network of rivers flowing through the region are renowned for their trout fly fishing. Wilderness experiences are our specialty.

Escape Aviation, which began as Helisika, is a family run locally owned business. For the past 30 years we have made it our mission to provide our clients with a once in a life time experiences in the remote regions of the Central North Island.
In recent years Escape Aviation has expanded from our home base nestled in the heart of the Poronui valley to bases at Taupo Airport and the Tongariro National Park.
Long lasting relationships with local iwi have allowed us to provide premium exclusive products on 80,000ha of remote private land that keep our clients coming back year after year.
We now provide a huge range of experiences in the Central North Island.
We also understand the value of time and aim to free our clients from the constraints of driving, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the activities they desire. With our safe and reliable helicopter services, we ensure you can enjoy a smooth arrival to our region and a seamless journey to your next destination.

Our bases
Central North Island based, we are spread across three main bases. Taupo Airport, Poronui Station to the East of Taupo and on State Highway One South of Turangi on the doorstep of the Tongariro National Park.
Our fleet
Our fleet consists of five helicopters and a Piper Navajo fixed-wing aircraft, each selected to support the diverse range of tourism and commercial operations we offer. The fleet includes two AS350 SD2 helicopters, two Hughes 500 helicopters, our flagship AS355 NP Twin Squirrel, and the Piper Navajo.
